How do you find travellers when you launch a gîte?

Spoiler: it's not easy. Opening a gîte is one thing. But how do you get people to find it?

With no customer base, no reviews and no visibility, it's a real challenge to make yourself known among all the great addresses in France. A personal website? Ideal in theory... except that nobody can find it. Social networks? Nice, but not everyone books by private message.

So what can we do?

We explored all the options: Booking.com, Vrbo, Gîtes de France... Each platform has its advantages - and its costs. Because let's be honest: as an owner, each booking channel plays its partFor travellers, this often means a slightly higher fare.

In the end, we chose Airbnb. It's not perfect, but it's clear, visual, accessible - and it fits in well with the spirit of our gîte: a friendly atmosphere, peace and quiet, space and character.

Yes, the platform fees mean that the price is a little higher than if you booked directly. But you gain in simplicity, security and international visibility.

So no, it's not always easy. But that's part of the adventure. And at the end of the day, what matters is that you are here with us.
