A family,
a new life.
We are Tim and Jennifer, with our three children Evi, Owen and Anna. In 2024, we left the Netherlands to start a new chapter in our lives in Auvergne.
From the Netherlands to Auvergne.
In September 2024, we left the Netherlands to settle in Pionsat, in Auvergne. We wanted adventure, to discover something new. a new language and a new culture, but also finding a better balance between work and family life.
During our research, we discovered our house in At Barret, in Pionsat. There are sometimes places for which you don’t need a lot of time to know.
When we arrived here, we knew it almost immediately: that was it.
This is where our new life in France began. A life that we obviously didn’t know exactly what it would look like, but that we built up little by little.
Today, Pionsat is no longer simply the place where we came to settle down. It has become our thing.
A familiar profession in a new environment.
For Tim, moving to France didn’t mean leaving his job behind. In the Netherlands, he already ran his own company specializing in the installation of air conditioning systems.
After our installation, he first worked for a local company for a while. This was a valuable experience for him to learn about the French work methods, get to know the local market better, and continue to improve his French skills.
In October 2026, the time was right to start again on his own. With Technical Stumble, Tim associates Today, his experience in the Netherlands is all that he has learned since our arrival in France.
Always with the same attention paid to technique, quality and meticulous finishing.
From the veterinarian to the reception of our guests.
For Jennifer, our new life in France has taken a very different direction.
A veterinarian by training, she has dedicated herself here to managing our large holiday home located in the village of Pionsat.
She also accompanies two other families in the management of their gîtes: reception of travelers, organization, follow-up and everything else It makes a stay an experience Pleasant and hassle-free.
This more welcoming part of our lives Auvergne takes shape under the name of’Estourgie Séjours.
It may be that Evi, Owen and Anna adapted the fastest to this new life. Where their parents sometimes still look for the right words or try to understand how things work in France, they seem much less concerned about it.
Today they are fully integrated into local life and speak French with a naturalness that sometimes gives us the impression that they have never done things differently.
And yes, we are quite proud of it.
On our part, we now have sufficient control French to live and work here on a daily basis. We also speak Dutch, English and German — which is always appreciated when we welcome guests or clients who have come By the way.
Why Estourgie?
The name Estourgie Has not been invented It was not chosen by a communication agency; it has been part of our family history for much longer.
Estourgie comes from Jennifer's family, through her grandmother, with whom she has always maintained a very special bond.
Sir Justin H. Estourgie has dedicated important research that led to the family name. These research lead the family history back to the Corrèze and Auvergne, in the heart of France.
After our arrival here, this name suddenly took on a new dimension.
We chose to adopt Estourgie for our activities: in honor of Jennifer’s grandmother, but also as a nod to the family’s French roots.
A name that has evolved from France throughout the course of the family history and that, several generations later, finds a place in the region of its origins.
The fleur-de-lis found in the coats of arms of the Estourgie family has also found its place in our current visual identity — a subtle link between our family history and what we are building today.
Two universes,
the same family.
At first glance, welcoming travelers in a guesthouse and installing air conditioning systems may seem like two very different activities. For us, however, they are part of the same story.
